BURN SWEAT and VIEWS - SUMMER REX CLIMB

BURN SWEAT and VIEWS - SUMMER REX CLIMB

November - January

FINAL RESULTS

WELL DONE FRED! It seems like MTB’s can get up the range at pace after all. It’s worth mentioning second place also goes to MTB-iker Andre Moritz. Congratulations to you both and thanks to everyone who had a go.

******************

The cane trucks are on a well deserved break which means the range is beckoning again.

It's long and hard, not to mention hot and humid, so we'll have until the 31st January to set the winning time. The segment to look for is "OLD VERSION - REX RANGE (FULL CLIMB)". It begins at the bottom of the range on the corner of Lower Cassowary Road and continues all the way up 100m PAST the second lookout to the very top of the pass (there is a driveway on the right) - a total of 6.9km and 398m elevation.

As always, a few handicaps apply to level the field a little:
1. 6 mins for being a man
2. (another) 2 mins for being between 20 & 45 yrs old
3. (another) 3 mins if you finished top 20 in an a-grade event (Ironman, Triathlon, RRR, Croc, etc) in the past 12 months.
4. (another) 2 mins if you're over 16 yrs old.
5. (another) 1 min if you're on a road bike (not applied on a MTB or TT bike)

Some Rules:
- Only open to members of the Bike Shop Strava Club - Anyone can join
- Multiple attempts during November, December & January allowed - fasted accepted
- No e-bikes
- Honesty is king - we're all mates

Winner takes home:
1. Bragging rights for years to come
AND
2. A $50 voucher redeemable at the Bike Shop in Port Douglas

BUMP TOP TO ROBBINS - OCT/NOV MTB CHALLENGE

FINAL RESULTS HERE

Hello again - Well done to everyone that had a go at the Chasing Chooks segment last month - Thanks for getting involved.

There's a small change to how future challenges will work.... Each challenge will run for 2 months instead of 1. The segment is called "Bump - Blk Mtn Rd to Robin Ck"

Keep it safe - it's a fast section of trail and is used by walkers and horse riders. Look out for WAIT-A-WHILE!

Remember, you need to have joined the Bike Shop Club to participate.

4. (another) 10 secs for being over 18 (lets see the young guns out there...)
5. (another) 10 secs for being on a std bike (ie not applied to tandems)

Some Rules:
- Only open to members of the Bike Shop Strava Club - Anyone can join
- Multiple attempts allowed - fasted accepted
